I am a passionate yogi that loves to impart my knowledge and experience to anyone that is interested in improving their wellness.

Yoga has become a major part of my everyday life. Through the practice of yoga I have developed a greater self awareness of my physical and emotional wellbeing.

Taking time in my day to meditate, move through an asana practice or just breath, always allows me to have a greater appreciation for how my body is feeling and any limitations that may be apparent on that specific day.

It also allows me to appreciate that everyday is different and be accepting and appreciative of what it holds.

My journey to become a parent began with infertility issues. Over the course of two years feeling the ups and downs of each menstrual cycle, wondering why can I not get pregnant? The stress of not knowing why and waiting each month certainly took it's toll. After assistance with my Dr, I finally became pregnant with our son.

I understand the need to be in touch with your body and your menstrual cycles, through our journey as women, from the time of your first menses, to trying to conceive, to menopause.

I am a registered yoga therapist with the International Assoc of Yoga Therapists and a level 2 yoga teacher with Yoga Australia.

I hold an advance certificate in nutrition and an advanced certificate in child and adolescent nutrition.

I am a post partum corrective exercise specialist.

I would love to assist you on your yoga journey, helping with health issues.

After suffering through another episode of severe back pain, Kim devised an effective yoga therapy plan for me to strengthen muscles and prevent future problems.

Beginning with an initial consultation (including diet, mental and physical health), the weekly 1 on 1 sessions over 4 weeks enabled me to learn the postures, with Kim modifying as appropriate. I gained confidence in following the treatment plan, especially as I have never done yoga before. I have noticed a difference in posture, an increased range of movement and have effectively used the deep breathing exercises as a relaxation technique.

Kim is great teacher and got me through a very difficult time. I have no hesitation in recommending her for yoga therapy.

After years of daily back pain that was getting progressively worse to the extent that my sleep and wellbeing were impacted, Kim taught me some strategies that have enabled me to live, not only pain-free, but that have also built-up my muscle tone and improved my posture throughout the day. I am sleeping better, exercising more effectively and most importantly, am pain-free. I can't thank Kim enough.

For the past few months I have been suffering from Plantar Fasciitis. After putting up with it for almost 3 months, I made the decision to finally go to the doctor and get a referral for the physio. In addition to that, I contacted Kim, as I knew she did yoga therapy (I already do yoga with her) and I thought that this could be beneficial.

Kim was more than happy to see me and the first step in the process was to fill out a questionnaire. It was quite detailed and asked lots of questions about my overall health and well-being. After emailing it back to her we set up a meeting time. I went to Kim’s house and the first thing we did was go through the questionnaire. Kim went through each question one by one and I have to say that we ended up having a really good discussion and although we did talk about my foot and the plantar fasciitis, we also talked about other things like my current work situation, what my goals and frustrations were etc. Kim said that sometimes people come with a specific injury but there are many other things going on in their life that could also be impacting them. It makes sense when you think about yoga and its beliefs on chakras and energy. One of the other things that I really appreciated was that Kim wanted to know how much time, and how often did I want to work on my foot. Knowing myself well, I decided that I would be better doing a short amount of time every day, rather than a 45 minute treatment plan 3 times per week.

We then went through a series of exercises/yoga positions to help Kim understand what was going on with my foot and come up with a plan. We spent about 30 minutes going through a series of yoga poses and I could see that my foot is definitely weak in the arch and I need to do some work on strengthening it, and that of course, it isn’t just my foot. It is all related to my calf, knee and hip. So even without doing any of the exercises that Kim would come up with for me, I was able to be more mindful of how I am standing and moving in every day life, and when I am actually practicing yoga that I am aware of what my foot is doing and how it has been compensating. After we had finished Kim said she would come up with a plan and then arrange another session to go through the plan, before putting it into action.

The following week I went back to Kim’s house to go through the plan that she had come up with. She stressed that I could do as much or as little as I wanted, depending on what worked in with my daily routine. We went through each exercise one by one and Kim talked about how many repetitions I should do, or how many breaths I should hold the pose for. I have about 20 minutes of exercises to do and there are a couple of “bonus” poses if I have some extra time on certain days. Kim was very thorough and what I really liked was that she really took the time to explain to me the “why” behind each exercise. She had obviously been doing lots of reading and researching about plantar fasciitis, which I have to say, really impressed me. You can tell that she has a passion for helping people and understanding the how and why our bodies do the things they do! For me, it is not only about fixing my foot issues, but also preventing structural damage, as I get older. I can see that the tightness and opposing weakness in my body will cause issues down the track and I do hope that by taking the time and making this a priority that I will help keep my body in tip top shape as I age.
